PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION:
Artificial intelligence has been used to write books, choreograph dance, and create deceptively realistic photographic images. When it comes to music, however, just how good is the AI musician?
Will AI write the next Grammy-winning Taylor Swift song or compose the next great symphony? Could an AI musician become your favorite music teacher? Could it perform with the artistry of a human? Using examples of music created and performed by AI musicians, you’ll be the judge: How good is AI when it comes to teaching, creating, and performing music?
More importantly, we will discuss the importance of being involved with and having a voice in how AI music is developed, because, even if you have no plans to use it at all, AI will have an impact on how your students learn and what they may come to expect from their music educators.
